Overview

A Parts Specialist is responsible for providing parts to the customers in their market. Specifically, the Parts Specialist spends the majority of his/her time working in the parts department, with the company’s customers via phone and in person.

 

 

A Parts Specialist duties include taking inbound calls from customers and utilizing the company’s resources to identify the correct part/s for the customer. Must be able to analyze many variables and choose the most effective course of action given the particular situation. Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure. Must relate and interact with co-workers, customers, and factory personnel. Customer demands can produce some stressful situations, but these are considered occasional rather than the rule.

Responsibilities

  • Answer a high volume of over-the-phone customer calls to assist with parts identification inquiries while providing exceptional customer experience.
  • A strong passion for helping customers and self-motived to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Utilize equipment manuals, part diagrams, parts lists and manufacturer contacts to identify part number information
  • Deliver high quality customer service, effectively communicating part information to customers in a professional and friendly manner
  • Work closely with other internal team members
  • Actively contact existing and prospective customers to provide progress reports

 

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Analytical individual with the ability to draw logical conclusions and problem solve
  • Dedication for providing exceptional customer service
  • Ability to work independently or as a team player
  • Excellent people and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Basic phone and computer knowledge
  • Professional demeanor and appearance in the office
  • Previous over the phone customer experience preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus
  • Observe all company procedures and safety rules
  • Successfully complete and pass: a criminal background check, drug test, and driver's license check

Physical Demands

  • Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching.
  • May require lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer and other standard office machines.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
